Two old pros who are in a different league... playing well above the other semifinalist pair.
Their whole side of the draw featured much tougher and higher quality matches IMHO.
I'm sorry Robertson didn't appear in the Selby-side draw as a Neil vs Ron final would have
been a deserved and outstanding dream final for me.
I predict a repeat final from last year and a repeat winner as long as the "miserable basta*d" *
doesn't spruce up with a shave and a haircut.
Hoping for a Williams/Maguire final, but have the feeling that it will be a repeat from last season.
Seeing a Williams/Maguire final would be good as if either of them won it would be a nice change. William's winning would be fantastic as it would be good to see one of the game's greats coming back to form.
I wonder how much of his contemporaries (Higgins and O'Sullivan's) resurgence over the last few season would have influenced him.
Maguire on the other hand, one feels that he is due for a win, with him winning I would hold high hopes for him in the coming seasons. If not, I get the feeling that his tournament winning ship may of sailed by. But as many have said in the QF thread, just like in the UK, Maguire has had a relatively easy run to this stage of the tournament.
I think we'll get to see today if Williams is really back to his old best. This is the perfect oppurtunity, lets just hope he makes the best of it. On the otherhand it should be a win for selby, as maguire doesnt look his normal standards.
Both matches look like they're going to be brilliant Hopefully they'll live up to expectations, especially the Ron-Mark one I think we may be seeing a rematch of last year's final by the end of today:snooker:
