You're right. The quality of the cup also dipped, it's nowhere near where it was five years ago..

Under these circumstances, Eurosport is likely to receive little challenge from any other channel for the rights to this cup.

It's not only football. I hardly remember any other sport being disrupted/delayed because of snooker, but usually the other way round. They thus promote their pay channel and player, which also feed the livestreams and that is positive. But as to their self-exclaimed status of 'nr 1 snooker sender' I'm sceptical.

Strong start from Williams. Pitty that he missed the black. Would've had chance for the highest break there...

He started in a similar way against Ding at the Grand Prix as well, but then played crap for the rest of the match.

watchers' base doesn't change because African Cup appears.

And yesterday night the rally thing due to which they stopped coverage of Allen-Selby for 1 hour was not even live stuff, right?

So how many frames will Ronnie need this time to get going?

Some good battle out there.. 0-2 for Williams.

Ronnie hasn't hit the top break building form, meanwhile, Mark is running all cylinders right now..

Good snooker, especially from Williams so far. Although that snooker behind the black by O'Sullivan was probably the second best shot of the week so far.

O'Sullivan will be looking to get the next two now.

It's a pleasure to see the old Williams back to playing at his best again..

That was a really careless shot by Williams to pot the black. He had a decent lead and the chance to make the table a bit awkward. But good break by O'Sullivan, and he'll want to get to 2-2 now.

Interesting match so far.. Every mistake was punished and we're back to 2-2..

There was a question of 99 breaks here, well, Ronnie stops at exactly 99..
