                  • Aargh, what an old man that Ronnie is already, did not have enough of strength to finish-off the final...

                        • Gutted for Ronnie. Seemed like he checked out a bit towards the end, wish he'd had a go at had a bit of a safety exchange at the end, he only needed one!

                          Good match, though.

Of course. You could add some Hunter or Doherty comebacks there as well. But ever seen an in-form ROS getting beaten from 9-6 (19) lead?

Admittedly, cross-comparing matches is not very rewarding. But surely this is one to be remembered of. Great match to end a great week

                              Should learn something from Selby

                              • What can you say...

After all the anger about the TV coverage, I can't help but have a big grin on my face. That truly was the magic of snooker.

What balls Mark Selby has. This was the second time he was 3 behind with 4 to play against Ronnie O'Sullivan in a final, and both times he showed remarkable determination and mental strength to win the last four. It got a little nervy towards the end, with both players missing a couple of easy balls, but it's O'Sullivan that's payed for them tonight. I think Mark Selby has answered his critics, and showed exactly why many consider him as 2nd favourite for the World title. And he didn't do it with any mind games tonight, it was just brilliant match snooker under the utmost pressure.

As for O'Sullivan... I said at 9-6 that if he lost the match, it would be that attempted plant to the green pocket that turned it in Selby's favour. I think O'Sullivan thought he was untouchable at that point, and he wasn't really mentally prepared for that comeback. But nevertheless, he probably played more great snooker than any other player this week. Some of his stuff has been incredible and I enjoyed it very much. Three of his four matches have been real classics this week. What a match it could be if these two meet in the QF of the World Championship.

I think we all need a break from snooker now, and one week is just fine for me. I'm sure I'll start looking forward to the Welsh Open in a couple of days.
