Why is it astonishing ? Its not that big of a gigantic lead.

All I meant by that is, I dont think Ronnie threw it away, I think Selby deserved to win and Im not astonished he came back from that deficit.
I always fancied Selby to beat Ronnie last night at 9-6 down.
I just dont understand why it is astonishing when someone beats Ronnie.

Mark Sleby will now be enjoying his £150,000

Did Robertson and Maguire end up sharing the highest break then?

Great final, especially the penultimate frame with the snooker in the jaw of the pocket and that green.

Yes, I believe it is £5,000 each.

There's quite some truth in that - Ronnie made too many mistakes in the final frames.
                And Selby made less.

I think it happened at least a little earlier... the green cut, not later (at least audience - his mom in tears and ronnie wood biting his lip - seemed to know that).
In the pre-last frame he pretty much fluked some snooker when he missed the yellow; snooker in the jaws was much more likelly a fluke too and not as it was planned. Even such luck was not enough.
Selby was just the sensible/more focused one and it was there for his taking from then on pretty much.

Don't think I saw Ronnie that stunned as after that double red by Selby .

So do you think his plan was to go in the pocket for a foul
Of course thats the way he played it :snooker:

I'd believe he's more likelly to make a mistake and go into the pocket with white than to land such a snooker ON PURPOSE...

Still not sure what you are trying to say ? - do you think he intended it to go in the pocket for a foul ?????????????????????????????????????? it was a brilliant shot
                        - OR do you think he didnt intend on it going quite as far as the corner pocket, and just over hit it and was lucky it didnt go in ?

I think he tried to play it as close to the corner pocket as he could. There was always a chance of the angle if the pace was right, which it was. So in my opinion, he gave it chance to happen, and it did.

I pretty much agree with what Odrl just said.

And I think there was a higher chance of it not endhing up in the jaws (but rather somewhere near the pocket) and a too high risk it could go into the pocket if he indeed played for exactly that kind of snooker.
Pretty lucky it ended up the way it did.

I realised Ronnie kept looking and figering with his tip during the match...
Did sumthing happen to his tip? He seems kinda uneasy... hmm...

Maybe it told him to lose the match?
