ironic that the only people who are moaning are the people on this forum. not even tabloids are reporting this and in this day and age they would pick up anything remotely sensationalist and have a field day with it. seriously, threads like this are a total waste of time and space.

You have only got to look at that chinese interview he did.
to me i find it hilarious but its poor taste and he shouldnt of done it.
problem is where would snooker be without him... off the scene be no where.
and unfortunately he knows it so he does what he wants when he wants. I know for sure that there were/are quite a few people taking cocaine regularry as I knew one of the lads that did it with them.
Any other sport they would be banned but snooker needed these names in the game so they had to let it slide.
He walked off against hendry.. as a fan of ronnie i garuntee alot of bets on ronnie went down on him and he couldnt be arsed to fit for his fans and followers who like to have a punt on him every now and again (i dint myself but i worked in a bookies and alot of ppl do back him)
ronnie is a flawed genius always will be so whatever he does doesnt suprise me.
he's got no respect for mark, he clearly doesnt respect him as a player else he wouldnt of walked straight off before mark recieving his trophy was a poor show and really doesnt fall under the bracket of professional if u ask me

The latest edition of his feature "Mark Selby Answer Your Questions" will be published on Friday and will contain his answer to...
"Could you let us know what Ronnie said to you after the fluke snooker he got against you in the final?"
...which was asked by one of our readers

Ronnie then said after the match that he doesn't think I can win the World Championship because I suffer from the same problems with consistency as him.
Well I'm not trying to sound funny, but I think I'll take what he said as compliment.
For me Ronnie is among the top two or three greatest players to have played the game, I have massive respect for him as a player, and if he is putting me in a similar position to him, then, as I said, I'll take it as a big compliment.
When it comes to my game, I don't mind having the same problems as him.
As for the thread topic, I'm no fan boy of Ronnie and at times he does behave completely and utterly disgracefully (walking out on Hendry mid match/China interview etc), but, this thread is a bit ridiculous.
So, let me get this straight, Ronnie said something barely audible and you rewound the same clip tens of times to see if he was "abusing" Mark Selby. It's a bit counter-intuitive to say "He should be careful what he says there are microphones about" and then admit that the only way you could hear his utterance was to ram up the volume and play it over and over, and even then, you can't be 100% sure what he did or did not say.
I'm sure there are deaf people who watch the snooker who can lip read what most of the players say after they miss a shot. Expletives are part of modern language, and if a word offends you, then turn the channel over. Snooker is always going to have people mouthing swear words once in a while, it can't be helped, if you miss a shot/safety you curse yourself, the opponent, the snooker gods, anyone it's not controllable sometimes!
If however, it's not the word that offends, it's his attitude to Mark, then look at how Mark responded to it. He treated him like the petulant brat that he is and smacked 4 frames in his face to win the match.
Look at the quote from Marks blog, whether it was directed at him, whether he heard it or not, doesn't matter, it looks like he takes all the criticism, childish behaviour etc that Ronnie can throw at him and turns it into something positive.
Chill out man, we all know that Ronnie behaves childishly, we don't need to scrutinize every piece of footage of him to arrive at that conclusion!Steve Davis Technical Articles = https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...ilebasic?pli=1

There's never been a Canadian who was too good!
All this talk of Ronnie acting one way or another is immaterial really, he is who he is and he'll always act whatever way he wants. Most people adore to watch him play but think he's disturbed. He's always been impolite, peculiar and a nightmare to interview. Only absolute die hard fans can overlook his behaviour and defend him, irrespective of whether it's appeared in the media or not!I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.

MS: He said something like: "You can't really moan, you've had the run of the balls all night." I suppose it is true that there were times in the match when we both had the run of the balls, but I didn't think it was the right time for him to be making such a statement.
The rest of Mark's answers is here.Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

this is pure speculation and a character attack. there is absolutely no evidence that he swore in the first place or even if he did, it was directed at mark.
mark selby shows his class via his replies, i wish the posters on TSF would be the same.

Arbitage no evidence ? It's on film. The only doubt lies around which expletive follows f****ng.
Ronnie says how can you moan twice before uttering it then once more after. If Selby was moaning then he deserved more, there's no doubt he had the run of the balls in the last 4 frames. I think it was Thorne saying he exerted so much pressure to take the win, while to me it looked like everytime he missed long pots he left Ronnie hampered.
Fantastic tourney especially the semi.

that could have been "flipping" "footy" "footing" - the fact is that what he said was inaudible - and you have absolutely no evidence to say otherwise. there is also absolutely no evidence that whatever he mumbled was directed at mark selby.
mark selby has already answered the question about what ronnie said to him, with class. no more needs to be added, particularly from people not in the know.
