He can't win this year as Graeme Dott won the World Championships this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ding won an event next season, he's done so in each of the last two, but he's not a shoe in for any event, indeed, he's not even the bookies' favourite.

Seriously, Ding's an immensely talented player, Fu was excellent at the World's, and China is a rising force in snooker, but it's a little blinkered to think that they'll win everything next season. There are other great, entertaining players on the circuit and I think you'll get more out of snooker if you start to appreciate them as well as your personal favourites.

Not knocking the enthusiasm, but a bit wider perspective on things wouldn't go amiss.

I think Ding is more suited to the longer matches as I feel he takes time to settle into the game. For that reason alone I'd be surprised if he won any of the smaller events this season but he is a good bet for the UK or WC this season.

I think it's amusing when people dole on players who haven't really warranted such adoration. Ding won two tournaments, but he failed to qualify for the World Championship this year. Ronnie won two WCs, but dropped down the provisional rankings massively. Let's show a little respect for players who have accomplished everything and are still playing well. Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry. Cheers to those chaps.

Anyone noticed how good Tian Pengfei looks in the qualifiers so far?

He may be quite dangerous, Anyone know much about him?

I was wondering if the guy is Ding's manager or wife or something. He seems obsessed with him!
