although i feel sorry for fu, i am not too surprised, as i can recall, there are many times when the champion loses the first round of the subsequent tournament. ding lost in the group stage of the GP last year immediately after his NI win. robertson lost in the first round of UK after he won GP. Ebdon lost the first round in welsh after his UK. dott lost the first round of the world after his china win. now dale and marco also lost the first round immediately after their title wins.

Good research/memory. It is strange though. You might expect a tournament winner to take his good form and confidence into the next tournament, but it doesnt seem to happen like that very often these days.

I don't find this strange really, especially when the tournaments are close in time. I think we all have experimented the "drained" feeling you typically get after a major effort and huge tension, followed by reduced energy and concentration. Also, increased expectations and hence pressure maybe a factors to take into account.
no results yet? my worldsnooker livescoring is showing empty screen
Works for me too. If you're using an old multi scorer link of mine remember to change the tournament code in the address (it's 0708NI now). I've also put up a direct link to WS live scoring on the TSF home page (under the featured forum bit), and if all else fails Eurosport are showing live scores at the moment too.
