Yeah hes a great player but he definately cracked. I guess most players do against Ronnie.

      • That shot off the brown in the last frame where he went down the table, round the pack then got position on the red was fan-bloody-tastic.

.......although he did lose out on that break he did win the match

The way he was playing when he was 4-2 down he looked like he couldn't care less if he was in the next round or not

If Ros doesn't win it then I would like - only for this week - Murphy to win Paul
I saw that going differently in my mind

Judging from today's match, certainly not. But then, tomorrow is a different day Haven't seen much of other player's matches to judge who is in a better form. Murphy? Day? Maguire? Ding?

                • Seems like Hendry he does not have the consistency for the whole tournament as happened in Aberdeen.

                  • All of a sudden Ebbo springs to mind! Might be the dark horse

Very true. I think that's why someone like Higgins struggles so often in early rounds (apart from not practicing enough). He's up there with Ronnie at his best, but his opponents don't really crack against him (see O'Brien in the decider). Maybe it's because he's a nice guy in general..

                      • last one for today: (after midnight here)

Selby in with a good chance to level, 55-39 now
                        Having said that, broke down

                        go Mark!!!

                        • I don't think being a nice guy is the reason his opponents don't crack against him. I mean, he IS a nice guy, but it's just not the reason. I think the reason is Ronnie's quick and attacking play and the fact that he has the reputation to simply blow you away if you make one single mistake.

Take Federer for example: he is also a nice guy, but people DO crack against him. It's just the way someone plays and how they make use of mistakes in general.

has to play Davis next round... I heard Steve's match vs Swail was a really good one.

                            • Could be another late night finish. Or did Steve play a bit fast? did not watch it.

It wasn't the televised match, I think. They showed Robbo and Cope instead. But it was a long match, so I don't think Steve played very fast.

No need for late night, they play tomorrow morning session
