i know Ana...been a follower for about 20 years, but truth is Murphy is playing top 4 snooker at the mo, and hendo is lucky to be playing top 10 snooker in matche (except PL)

Very hard for me to say this but this is just like that . I cant understand why Hendo play very well in PL but in the ranking tournaments not

I´m just recently bought a new pc so I can enoy youtube. And I have saved Hendrys 147s for these moments.
So every time he goes out I´m enjoying an old 147.
So Ive just watched the one from 1995 at the Cru.

But I must ssay it was worse last time when he fought to win three matches only to go out in a final frame against a nobody (no offense) who had nothing to play for.

And Mags won his match ag. Ding 5-3 .
I should have had a bet on this with Marc ... he said Ding is the player to beat this tournament, didnt give much credit to Mags ..hmm .. to bad i didnt have the bet ..i would have won a choc at least .

I'm all for that too. Mags has a bit of work to do first, with Neil and Smurphy/Ebdon in the QF/SF. Ronnie's draw seems a tick on the easier side, with Hawkins/O'Brien and Allen/Day/Greene/Doherty.

And then it's the unwritten rule that the maker of a 147 does not win the tournament. Except when it's in the deciding frame of the final, of course.

Does anyone have any idea what the last two frames of the Ding v Mags were like?

maguire pretty much dominated the last two frames with his safety play. not it's better than ding's, just maguire had the upper hand from the start. ding did have a couple of chances though, in the 8th frame, he snookered maguire with a red hanging at the pocket, maguire luckily snookered ding back with his escape, otherwise it could all be different. anyway, good win for maguire whose match play was solid despite missing the odd balls. ding looked calm and collected all the way through too, though missed a few half chances under pressure.

i am surprised no one has given mark allen or fergal o'brien a chance of beating ronnie. there has been a player outside the top 16 featuring in the last 6 finals. actually, it' s been 8 out 9 of the finals since the beginning of the last season that some one from outside the top 16 has been in a final.

Course they got a chance, just look on the other thread. Ronnie on his high today, could lose easily tomorrow. Would not surprise me.

Poor Ding even could not get on the TV as defending champion! but against Maguire it is still almost a deja vu looking at their record.

I still do not dare to fancy Ronnie too much for this title even if having witnessed this afternoon's great show. Let's remember last year he also made some kind of record in the semi against Dale, but still unable to claim the trophy which he really wanted.
