You didn't 'predict' him to win as such, you just pointed out the pattern. In fact a few of his matches you predicted him to lose.
However i'll remind you that you did mention Maguire to win on 606.

I didn't want to go with O'Brien against Higgins and O'Sullivan because they are usually bankers. However having done so poor I should have just stuck with my guns. I had Maguire to win on that snooker.org competition so I can't lose tonight although fiscally I want O'Brien to win.

      • Where's the discussion?

5-4 Maguire, heading for 6-4, at least that's what the live scoring tells me as I can't find a working stream. (Apart from this one, which is terrible, but beggars can't be choosers!)

EDIT: Now it is 6-4. Mon Fergal!

        • 7-4 now and Maguire is pretty close to win it.

So you change your predictions from each forum? That makes it a guess not what your actual prediction is.

              • More on topic, Fergal has got it all to do. The first frame is vital.

                • We have our winner! Deserved also, not the way I would have preferred it to go, but Stephen is a worthy (and rightly) winner.

                  • Yes well done Maguire. I feel sorry for O'Brien, but Maguire played the best this evening.

                    • Congrats to the winner Stephen and I hope to see lots more of Fergal too, who played so very well. Huge thrill for me to watch live world class snooker for the first time. Exciting and tons of fun.

Thanks to all you forum folk for keeping the scores coming when I couldn't get TG4 and for your knowledgeable comments.

I decided against logging in here, watching and chatting at the same time. Would've been too much. (Warning: Have had port. Post may prove useless.)

Anyway, there were some really classy breaks, the beginnings of the last frame was absolutely stunning. I'm very pleased for Mags, that he is coming back to the top of the rankings, that he is performing very well indeed again. Now all he has to do is to pick up the ability to make frame-winning breaks, because that is what is lacking at the moment.

Congratulations, Mags! Enjoy it, but don't enjoy it too much, I want to see you lift more of those trophies

And congratulations to Fergal too, he's back and he means to stay this time, by the sound of it.

PS Thank you to my two companions for the hand-helding and the constant reminders to breathe!

                              • Well done Stephen, well deserved today. To be honest, when I saw the four semi-finalists, I was behind him all the way. I like him for a start, seems like a pretty decent guy. Hopefully he can get back to winning a bit more now.
Stil though, Murpy is one to really watch this season, believe me. Two semi finals, lost both 6-5 thanks to a brilliant opponent. He's going to do very well if he keeps up his performance. Nice tournament, shame I couldn't see any, but the UK isn't long now, and then I will able to.
