Ken had chances of better safeties in the last 3 frames, and having failed to do so obviously Ronnie wouldn't miss straight forward pots. Can't say I'm surprised but it wasn't a great game in my opinion.
And lol, I can't see how can a player of the quality of Mark Davis score 4 frames against Ding. O_oLast edited by João; 27 August 2008, 10:39 PM.

Yep, surprising result, although Ding has in the past struggled getting through the early rounds of tournaments. Last season, he did tend to get past the first round or two, but in the few years before, even though he would show flashes of brilliance he was notoriously inconsistent and could follow up one tournament win with losing in the qualifiers.
On his day, excellent potter and breakbuilder, but inconsistency, temperament and to an extent shot selection have been his downfall thus far. He is of course still young with time on his side.

Thrilled for Ronnie, but gutted that Ken had to go out so early when in such a good form and needing the points. Hopefully he will conserve it for the upcoming tourneys.

IM stunned to see Ding lost ag M. Davis , didnt see that coming. Shame.
ES showed yday a frame from the match Williams- Murphy, i was wondering how come Murphy had such a bad start in the new season. Anyone saw the whole match?!Was Murphy to relaxed and careless in his game , or Williams played like in good old days...and if so..id be thrilled for him. I saw a few frames, and although Smurphy made some mistakes, possibly more than usual, and was not very successful with his usual trademark long reds, he didnt lose the game as much as Mark won it, I thought. Williams played a lot better than he has in a while. I have hopes for him this season and I think he will return to the top 16.

He has a tough match ahead , ag the local boy Allen , who i bet will get all the support from the crowds today..but he has his chances if he plays at least as good as ya said he played against Murph.

It's one of ROS most remarkable strenght: he very often makes the breaks looks ridiculously easy. But it isn't; it's all about positional play and developping the pack.Proud winner of the 2008 Bahrain Championship Lucky Dip
