  • TV table - Ronnie or Allen

In the last few years I can't think of an occasion that Ronnie didnt get the TV table. Not that I am complaining about this, as there is simply no bigger audience attraction, and no one is better to watch.

But tonight Mark Allen is in action on the other table. I wonder if the tournament organisers and broadcasters will decide they want to feature their own rising star, in favour of the mighty Ronnie.

After all it is their tournament and tv station so they can do what they want ?

Or will world snooker and eurosport flex their muscles and demand ROS gets it ?

I guess it was a tough call for both sessions but according to World Snooker the tv matches are Maguire v Harold and O'Sullivan v Hawkins.

No complaints from me but it would have been better if there were 2 tv tables throughout the tournament.

I'm pretty sure Eurosport will Be covering the Ronnie match! World champion and World no1 and the fact that most fans would want to see Ronnie play i dont see it as much of a contest

Spike, Eurosport has no say in the final decision. It's with the local broadcaster, tg4, and the tournament director. So if tg4 and Mike Ganley go for Allen, it will be Allen. Eurosport only relays tg4 images, adding their own commentaries.

Now was has been announced is indeed that the ROS match will be on telly.

            Eurosport can't decide that!
            From Dave's blog:
            1) Eurosport has NO SAY in which matches are broadcast.
            2) Eurosport is NOT CONSULTED as to which matches are broadcast.

            The local broadcaster does.

If they do show Ronnie's match instead of Mark's then the it makes the decision to show Swail's match instead of Jimmy's even more absurd. If they are going to show local players rather than moe popular ones (no offence Joe) then they should a least be consistant with it.

Take it easy pal. Ronnie is the best and popular. So always is in TV.

What a bunch of amateurs who are in charge of this NI Trophy. Even in Malta or China we get to see a better organization than this:

                    - Almost no replays.
                    - Crap camera angles and focusing too much on the pockets rather than where the cue ball is gonna finish.
                    - Only 1 televised table? What the hell? And with that, always seem to pick the worst game possible to show on TV.
                    - The crowd is so aphatic unless Mark Allen was playing, where the non sense shouting started.

zZzZz... bring on the real tournaments.
