Higgins getting (and taking) a few chances now. Harold struggling.

5-4 now... Harold hasn't scored a point in the last two frames.

Harold's finally gotten back to making balls in the 10th frame, and is leading 74-33 according to Eurosport's live scoring...I think it's safe to say he'll be in the final.

Congratulations to Dave, But I wonder how much he has left in the tank for the final.

Wow! According to their respective track records, now since Harold has just beaten Higgins, all this tournament needs is Carter's first win over Ronnie in 10 attempts with the match ending 6-1 and a Carter/Harold final won by the latter. In the decider. With a maxi.

I think the is very appropriate. Whoever wins tonight will face a hard opponent. And one that could very well bore Ronnie to tears if we have a Harold - ROS final which is not guaranteed at all.
Not that Harold's game is boring - what I saw was quite impressive and enjoyable - but he has this strange immobility about him that gives this feeling of slowness... I can't put it better.

PMSL.. That..beats my imagination really. Better get in the final with Ronnie and beat ROS in the decider with a 147 ( the fastest ever if possible).
Well done to Harold, i never thought he'd get that far in the tournament..in 17 years as a pro he had only won 1 title..ages ago ( hope im not wrong)..quite impressive that after so many years he managed to achieve this performance..
As for the coming final.. could be a Harold -Ronnie match , i remember last time they played - 1st round at the Worlds few years ago , Ronnie dealt quite well with Daves slowness. I for one never liked Harold , to me he takes way to much time to "select" a shot ,then think ab it ..if its the best decision or not, to bend over the table and then a wee more to take the shot... That slows his game a great deal and more than once i found it boring..
A Carter -Harold final..is just as possible , in this case my feeling is Dave would win..
Mon the Rocket , i hope we'll have a great semi tonight! :snooker:

If Harold somehow manaages not to put too much pressure on himself tomorrow, and just thinks hes had a great week whatever, and tries to enjoy the day, it may not be that one sided. He knows he's playing well and has had some great wins so far this week.

Who'd have thought that Dave Harold would be back in the top 16 again, all be it provisionally. A truly amazing fightback at 41 years of age, to climb back up the rankings after nearly dropping off the main tour due to his wrist injury a few years ago; sheer grit and hard work has come through over all the young guns and hot shots. :snooker:

Could this be the start of a Doug Mountjoy-type resurgence?

Very impressive i'd say. The Eurosport commenatators were saying its was 15 years since he won a ranking tournament way back in 1993 ! Surely it would be a new record if he was to win again tomorrow, easily surpassing Dominic Dale's ten year gap ? The statman, what do you say ?
