Which amateurs are entitled to play in this event, do they look at the junior premier tour or the pro ticket tour or the english amateur to find out which amateurs are eligible.

I'm sorry Ryan, I'm not entirely sure to what you're referring.
England currently has two places allocated for promotion to Main Tour, and these have been awarded to PTT winner (which brings in points from the English Amateur) and to the winner of the play-offs for those ending the rankings in positions 2-17.
Under Hearn's proposals there will be just one place allocated to England, which presumably goes to PTT winner, with no need for any play-offs.
The PJT rankings simply determine who represents England at various international events: Home Internationals, European U19s, World U21s etc. There is no direct link from PJT to turning pro.
Under Hearn's propsals there will be a free-for-all entry into the PTC events (but they carry no means of joining the pro ranks for amateurs), and the Q-School next May, which again is open to all comers. The World Open (Grand Prix) will include invited amateurs, but I'm not sure exactly who they will be, or the basis on which they're selected.
With Davison's new proposals, there's absolutely no mention of amateurs and how they can join the pro ranks.

Thanks for that info, i did know what these tournaments went towards it is just that on the world snooker website, it said that it was open to the top 32 amateurs. I,m ranked 30th on the ptt and 8th on the pjt just wondered if it was worth entering

There are 148 entries for the first PTC event
72 of the 96 pros have entered and 78 amateurs
The pro figure is good for this time of year when a lot had pre-booked holidays etcJanie Watkins

Only mentions 9 of top 16 as having entered so of the 24 pros not entered, 7 of them are:
Robertson, Carter, Ding, Hendry, Allen, Liang and Higgins.
I wonder if they've entered events 2,3 and 4?

So.... By my calculations (and I can be quite clever at times) the 72 professionals are guaranteed a place in the main event, of which 64 of them will be seeded and leave only the lowest 8 professionals being drawn to play a fellow professional... 76 amateurs have also entered but with only 56 places available there will have to be 20 prelimenary matches to cut the field down... Does anyone know if players are going to be seeded somehow from the amateur ranks or will this be a random draw?Highest Break

the top 64 Seeds are from the Pro Ranks but after the first PTC the seeds will be from the PTC Rankings which will make life very hard potentially to all those pros thats not entered this event.

What I really like is the fact that even the top 16 have to start in the last 128 of a tournament. Ok, they are only best of 7's but they have to win 7 matches in just 3 days to win the tournament... It wouldn't surprize me if the players are looking forward to such a refreshing change and taking them back a little nearer to the days of turning out as an amateur on a Sunday for an all-dayer tourney!Highest Break
