thanks for info - good to see this up so quickly on WSA site.

Will look through list properly tomorrow to see if can work out 96 on main tour.

NB. I see Xiao Guodong is listed as a pro - so he must have been given a wildcard too (or someone else has left the tour).

Any word yet on weather we'll be able to watch the event somehow? Maybe a live stream? I know Barry wanted to set the Academy up for that, has that already been done?

To my knowledge the equiptment for the live streaming has not yet been installed at the academy and I can not see it being ready for any of the PTC events.

There is too much to sort out with the academy for this to be happening just yet.

Good to see they are getting organised quickly, although earlier they said there were 148 entrants. I make it 150. Did they accept some late entries? Also, is Luca Brecel 16 yet? I thought you needed to be at least 16 years of age to enter. If he was given a special exemption, shouldn't of he been given a tour card?

Anyway, expect the numbers to grow in the next couple of events. Some higher ranked players are not seeing that you MUST enter every single event to remain in your place in the rankings! In the PDC darts tour, only a few players don't enter all events:

Phil Taylor - because he's miles ahead of anyone else.
Raymond van Barneveld/Dennis Priestley - semi retired.

Finally, disappointed to see amateurs cannot qualify for next years tour from these competitions. Surely if you're good enough, you deserve to be there?

I don't expect these to be streamed, unless they are free of charge. The failure of 110 sport proved there wasn't much of an appetite for live streamed minor events.

That had a lot more to do with their extremely poor execution than anything in my opinion.

Shame that something this simple to do always takes so much hassle.

In fairness to 110 sport, I enjoyed the small highlights packages which they gave to fans for nothing at the beginning of the season (Shanghai Masters and Grand Prix). There was some good commentary from Dominic Dale, Rob Walker and Darren Morgan and was presented fairly well on probably was a very small budget. Was good to see some no hopers getting some exposure.

                    Its a shame really.

its the top 8 non-qualified main tour players who get a tour spot for 2011/2012.

Indeed, it's the top 8 placed pros who were outside the top 64 who get back on the tour. Amateurs can not qualify through PTCs.

                            Really ?

im surprised at that it should be extended to all PTC Competitors thats not inside the top 64.

I totally agree, that 30 minutes package was exactly what snooker needs, a magazine style highlights package, and the BBC or Eurosport should be looking at these PTC events to pick up this action along with news and stories from on and off the table. (PS. No 15 minute interviews with local painters please..Snooker!!)

With 24 tournaments now we should be having a 30 minute or 1 hour magazine style show every two weeks at least focusing on the smaller events and up and coming players along with news in brief from around the world.

Also great to see the superb entry for the first event and I expect the entries in Germany to top 180 at least.

Roll on the finals in Dublin!!
