have now looked through draw - trying to work out the 96 players on main tour. I'm assuming the 23 not entered are as follows:
John Higgins
Neil Robertson
Ali Carter
Ding Junhui
Mark Allen
Stephen Hendry
Liang Wenbo
Joe Perry
Steve Davis
Ken Doherty
Stuart Pettman
Michael Judge
Rod Lawler
David Morris
Joe Delaney
Paul Davies
James Wattana
Michael White
Issara Kachaiwong
Noppon Saengkham
Reanne Evans
Dermot McGlinchey
asian wildcard
I'm assuming this is other 23 and that WSA rejected Robert Murphy as Irish representative after Rodney Goggins declined the place. If Robert Murphy is on tour I'm guessing someone on last years tour (maybe Paul Davies) has quit and that is why Xiao Guodong remained on the tour (nb. Xiao is unlikely to be Asian wildcard as he was on tour last season)
re the 23 above I'm guessing some of the overseas boys will be back for event 2. Am more surprised by some of the others namely Allen, Michael White, Carter and Perry - anyone heard anything?

Dunn, Ebdon & co might not have got what they wanted but they know they have to support the new regime if they have any real ambition to remain as pro players.

Barry was on Irish radio and said he was in talks to bring the finals to goffs in co.Kildare, just outside Dublin , the old venue for the Irish masters. I also know of another superb venue in dublin looking to host it. Both would be superb venues for the event.

Haven't heard anything definite on it since but Barry hearn seemed keen to have it there , the helix is another possible venue. It's more central and right next to the airport also so handy for everone. As it's being held around paddys day it would be a right event for tourists.

anybody that harbours pettiness to detrement their own career are just idiots.
if both ebdon and dunn has any ambition to be snooker players they better play.
there was some that did not expecte ebdon to play me for one wasent 1 of thoes people i expected Ronnie and Hendry not to play but i got that 50% right.
the players im surprised thats not played are Carter,Allen and Perry.

Ding and Liang are not British and maybe they feel they should have more time at home in china with family and friends.
yes Michael White is surprising though.
