Match 142 is a last 32 match that might include Jimmy White...... Players that are in Match 142 would have played their last 64 match on friday morning after playing their last 128 matches on Thursday.

I'm with Jimmy on this one. He's committed and has paid to play in the PTC but a LOT of fans have bought tickets to see him play in Plymouth - I dread to think what a private plane is costing him to be able to fulfil both engagements.

I know the players have a very busy season this year so we might see the sale/rent of private helicopters and aircraft being good business!

I also think it's good that world snooker are now working in conjunction with other promoters to try and ensure everyone can play in events and fulfill their exhibition and appearance commitments.

and while we are on the Subject Regarding this

Forgive me if tis has been mentioned regarding event 2 - but I had a couple of the "amateurs" and their parents talking to me today and they pointed out that their lads play on Thursday in the Amateur round and if they win don't play again until Saturday according to the schedule for event 2.
Bearing in mind they need to win the second match on Saturday to get into the money, they're going to be well out of pocket this event, because at the barest minimum they need to have 2 nights accommodation.
If they're playing early Thursday they probably need to stay Wednesday night to and if they're playing into the small hours on Saturday night they'll have to stay Saturday night as well.

This seems poor scheduling compared to Event 1.

I'm sure people will argue that this is a Professional Event and their needs should and will be catered to as a priority by world Snooker.

But I think it's been a great innovation to encourage the Amateurs into these events.

It would be a shame to price them out of it after just two events.

its exactly the same squedual for them(pity jimmy has to get special treatment) But because there are 36 Quals this time it means 4 of the Qualifiers will have to play Saturday with the other 32 on Friday.

Just cause Robbo's not playing doesn't make whole events irrelevant! One player not turning up, whether he's the world champion or not, is irrelevant.

in life we all want things we cant have Jimmy Wants wants to play fair enough however in Reality he shouldn't have it Because now every player who has something on AND WANTS TO PLAY will have it in their minds "if its good enough for jimmy its good enough for me"

The PTC was created so that players got tournaments to play in if a player already has something on then he cant play and he dont bloody enter it really is that simple and it has sod all to do with being sodding English.

whats trivial about a tournament organizer bending over to suit one bloody player its not stressing its whats right and whats wrong this is clearly wrong.

what next a player sais "i want to play in the PTC2 BUT i cant next weekend how about i play all my matches this weekend"

let's not start insinuating what might happen because what you said about playing different weekends is just being silly.

At least Jimmy White has entered. I'd be more concerned with players that couldn't be bothered to play.
