Murphy Up And Running

Shaun Murphy won only his second match in the Star Xing Pai Players Tour Championship, beating Michael Holt 4-3.
Former World Champion Murphy is currently down in 88th place on the Order of Merit after suffering two surprise opening-round defeats to amateur players in the first three events. The Sale-base cueman hopes for a good run today and tomorrow which could shoot him up the list.

Tom Ford, who won event three last week, had his preparation affected by a leg injury suffered during a football kick-about, and lost 4-3 to Martin O'Donnell.

China's Chen Zhe upset Stuart Bingham 4-3 while event two finalist Barry Pinches eased past Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon 4-0.

Jimmy White has pulled out, suffering from gout, so his opponent Sharukh Nasir gets a bye to the last 64.
