Mark Selby got Zhang Anda in first round, I think he should get through that

The top 8 games in Round 3 are certainly going to throw up some big matches early on:

          Mark Selby vs Zhang Anda
          Dave Harold vs A.N. Other

          Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Ryan Day
          Stephen Craigie vs Ken Doherty

          Mark King vs A.N. Other
          Anthony McGill vs Stephen Hendry

          Dermot McGlinchey vs A.N. Other
          Judd Trump vs A.N. Other

So we could have Selby vs Harold, Ronnie vs Doherty, Hendry vs King.... then Selby vs Ronnie or Doherty and Hendry versus Trump.... then Hendry vs Ronnie

          Interesting

I honestly can't understand why Ding hasn't entered enough events. For someone as young as him, he would've been the last person I would think would not be eligible.

Is it laziness? Is it the travelling aspect? Isn't Ding based over here now in Sheffield with Liang and some of the other Chinese players?

not sure what his reasoning is... i know previously that players from the far east struggled to get Visa's for the start of the season, but that was normally newly qualified asians to the tour. Surely this can't be the case for ding. Maybe he is spending time in China with his family?? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Well its definitely not going to be visa problems - he's been on the tour for over 5 years now hasn't he. Isn't he almost eligible to become a UK citizen if he wants to be permanently based here?

Yeah, I agree, a very difficult section of the draw. I'm going to predict the winners of each group of 4 now though.

                  Mark vs Ronnie

                  Anthony vs Judd

This kind of competitive draws can only be good for the game though and I'm sure lots more draws will be done like this

from looking on his website snookerding.com and using babelfish to translate - it looks like he had some commitments in China until end of July and so would not be back in UK until August sometime. Also as he's committed to participate in Asian Games in November (and hence will miss the last 2 PTC events) maybe changing his plans to incorporate 1 or 2 events in an already busy schedule may not on the whole be good for him.

if hendry gets as far as Ronnie id be happy his first match against mcgill who is 16 on the money list with £2,300 pounds will be tough especially with magill being match sharp with 7 wins in the PTC under his belt.

Does anyone know if Global Snooker will be covering this event somehow? Hopefully better than last time? The site loses its value without the live scoring.
