I thought that he was shocking against Davison in Glasgow to be honest, just knowing how to get over the line on the big stage got him through I think.sigpic

He wasn't at his best against Paul. But IMO he showed why he can still be a Top 16 player. In the Masters he was all over the place. He's got some sort of long potting game back also. I think its the mental side that he's been struggling with in the past few years.

Jimmy has gained some confidence lately...he needs to improve his positional play and if he does he could be a top 32 contender. I think top 16 is too much for him, for now at least."There has only ever been Alex Higgins, myself and now Ronnie O'sullivan who play the game the way it should be played with such excitement - I know the fans love it this way" - Jimmy White

He'll never be a top 16 player again though for me, not to say that he can't win matches or qualify for a few venues but the consistency isn't there now and hasn't been for some time. He hasn't been ranked in the 50's and 60's for the last few seasons by accident.sigpic

Jimmy White 2-4 Shaun Murphy.
Not a surprise, really but at least he's competing again. It doesn't matter how much you love a sport, if you are getting beat all the time, it must be really depressing. You can see it in the faces of McManus, Stevens and Hendry of late and i suppose all of us that play sports, know how crap it is when you hit a bad run of form.
