That was a tough game. There seemed to be a determination in White to win that after that free ball incident and going 2-1 down. Ebdon not happy at the end, moaning about the table. Said it was garbage and it's usually worse than that. It did have a lot of bounce though.
Yes, you know I think it was just what he needed to get a bit of a spark going.

True, it got his juices flowing lol
And yes, peter does always like a bit of an after match chat. Theres a lot of respect between him and jim, they both must of tapped the table a hundred times!
Anyone know what match is being shown after this dott match?
I think Williams- Yu Delu
"There has only ever been Alex Higgins, myself and now Ronnie O'sullivan who play the game the way it should be played with such excitement - I know the fans love it this way" - Jimmy White
I missed the details of the discussion on the Jimmy/Ebdon table .. what was the fuss all about, whether it was a free ball or not? Whether the yellow could be struck at both extreme edges? And the answer was yes it could, no free ball?
Michaela called a free ball which would have given Jimmy an easy blue ... Peter queried it so Michaela put a test ball next to the yellow (the ball on) and confirmed her decision, a free ball ... Peter continued to whinge so Michaela offered to get a senior referee and got Jan Verhaas ... Jan spent a couple of minutes looking at it and eventually concluded "no, not a free ball" and play went on on that basis ...
Poor refereeing in my opinion ... I can understand why Michaela offered to get a senior ref's opinion (her words, not mine) although I'd have preferred her to stand her ground ... and I'm even less impressed with Jan Verhaas who came in and decided it as if he was refereeing the match - which he wasn't ... I think he should have unequivocally backed up Michaela's decision ...
It was a judgement call ... Peter thought it wasn't, Michaela thought it was and called "free ball" and, quite properly, reviewed her decision and confirmed "free ball", Jan thought it wasn't and for the record I thought it was (my best guess from the standard camera angle) ...
I thought the referee's decision was final but apparently not ... whatever next, maybe they should do phone votes a la Strictly or the X-Factor? Phone xxx-xxxx if you think it's a free ball or yyy-yyyy if you don't ...
I am very disappointed - my view is that Jan Verhaas should have simply stated that Michaela is the match referee and her decision is final whether it is right or wrong ...
Correct Dandy. I don't blame Ver Haas really. I blame Tabb. She should never have put herself in that position. At least the decision didn't affect the result of the match. Shame Jimmy lost his 2nd game but Mcgill obviously played well, so good luck to him.

Very odd situation, and seems quite untypical of Michaela who can be quite forceful when she wants to. Seems quite untypical of Ebdon too. If I was Michaela, also I'd have been a bit annoyed that Jan Ver Haas didn't back her up, but I didn't see it.
It might have been quite clearly not a free ball. Without seeing it, it's hard to say who was in the wrong in this instance.
