It's a new concept and has it's own rules. Everyone will pick these up pretty quickly. The rules will be explained throughout, no doubt. If you have played 9 ball, you would have needed the rules explained and i'm sure they were picked up quickly.

This isn't replacing Snooker, it's promoting it.
    Totally agree.
Besides, if it doesn't quite work 100% from the start, they can always make the necessary corrections. I think it will be a lot of fun ESPECIALLY as the players will wear microphones!

Is there more press coverage out there, ie pictures or videos from the launch event?

Just imagine Virgo, Thorne etc. trying to commentate on this! It should be entertaining even if it does descend into farce.

I never thought I would live long enough to utter these words, I will be giving snooker a miss if this form of the game is adopted.
I'd personally love it if everyone would stop grumbling and just accept that it's a fun side-event, it will NOT take over the main game.

I just bought my tickets and am greatly looking forward to it!

The way I see it, you don't need to over complicate things by making so many rules in making it any less exciting for players, and the audience alike, as opposed to if there were too few rules for power snooker.

              Maximum break

The highest possible bonus is 200, so make that 610.

The break requires the last 23 balls to be potted in 2 minutes which is one every 5.2 seconds.

The one thing I agree with is that there's too many rules. I say do the 9 reds double points for power time thing, but take out all the other points mess, like double points from the baulk etc. And do cueball in hand for every foul.

Hi how does the point system work after potting a red do you have to pot a colour and then a red just like in snooker also when do you have to pot the power ball maybe some knows cheers leonard

Is it not pretty similar to the "onefourseven" thing they did last year but with a few jazzed up ruled added in. I can imagine John Virgo there too with his "pot as many balls as you can" catchphrase.

A bit surprised this has been embraced by WorldSnooker yet at the same time they say there were no plans for any six red events which I think by comparison would be preferable to most people, at least its a proper sporting contest whereas this sounds more like a quiz show type of competition.

Would be surprised if it was still around in a year or two but we'll see, the crowd noise thing is something that needs to come into snooker I think though many would disagree.

Darts is no great shakes really but the atmosphere makes it and if people did shout out there would still be winners and losers, those that could handle it and those that couldnt. Obviously heckling could still be dealt with by the tournament officials, maybe worth running one tournament with noise allowed and see what happens.

Don't be serious, just another commercial game/show to make money.

                      - No need to argue too much, it's only target to young players (beginners or even teens & kids), new audience. definitely not die-hard snooker fans.
                      - Revolution is good, btw, can't remember what's been changed in Snooker.
                      - Too many rules but players/audience will get used.
                      - Most sports need to have fast paced version.
                      - Seems impossible to hit max. break.
                      - Maybe 90% of aggressive play, 10% simple (not tactical) safety shot.
                      - Next revolution should be the lightings & audios set up, referee(+cheerleaders), cues, dress code, equipments/accessories...
                      - Every player should have a "nick name" plus characteristic costume. (just like "Black Widow")
                      - Should game with female players.
                      :) :) :)

Like Hearn says they are just trying new things out. Despite the complicated rules it could be quite a show. Bring on the cheerleaders
Ten reds and not a colour...

I'm not an expert but if at the end 99,9 % of the world is no longer interested in nowadays snooker then indeed something has to happen. So let's try this out.
I saw that going differently in my mind

I can't wait, the concept sounds thrilling to me. There may be other rules but there's still a lot of space for tactical play. I'm defenetly infected with the Power Snooker Virus ;-)

as long as they dont try to replace snooker with this then its a good thing cant see it lasting though.
