I agree with you there. They should have tried something like snooker with 9-ball rules. There's too many rules.

They should call this game power snooker nine ball and they should play this with 9 balls just like in nine ball and who ever pots the nine ball wins. Cheers leonard

Correct, once potted, the Power Ball triggers a 2 minute Power Play where everything is worth double points. The ball is treated like a red and is not respotted.

Nine balls to pot in specific order from random positions? A game like that on a snooker table with pro cut pockets would last forever. You would not see a 'break and run'.

I think they should just leave regular snooker as is. It is not necessary to add different sub disciplines of snooker. Totally counter productive. To me, the game is rich enough and also simple enough to follow. I wouldn't want snooker to become a mess that American pool is with all of its sub disciplines.

Power ball rules

Hi would like to know when all reds are potted leaving only the colours left yellow to black. And you are behind the balke line and yellow ball is near the black spot and you pot it do points count double or single.

Well according to the first post -

Power Zone
The area behind the baulk line will be designated the “power zone” – if the cue ball is struck from within the power zone, any colour potted will be worth double.

Absolutely.

It's something different from the norm. No ranking points are at stake. And it's a bit of fun all rolled into one.

People won't falsely say somebody's the greatest ever based on somebody winning a non ranking funner 8 times in their career, but hasn't achieved anywhere the same number of world professional championships in their career.

Personally I think this sounds pretty interesting, it'll certainly be fun.

I've joined this forum to try and get back into snooker and see what the opinion is here.

I remember when I was about 5-12 years old and I loved watching and playing snooker and suddenly (for me anyway) I got bored of it and I can't believe that! I love snooker.

So Power Snooker might just set that little light a flame in me and get me back in to it. I like something a little different and am willing to give anything a try!

I seem to remember that there were some very big name players involved in it, but it still bombed.

Looking forward to seeing how this event goes. There does seem to be a few too many rules but I think the format and presentation could get some new people interested in snooker. Would have been nice to see Mark Williams in the line-up, but it should be interesting anyway...

What would everyone's prefered final be? For the crowds it would have to be White-O'sullivan as they are both local boys and they draw the roudy crowds anyway, but mine would be Robertson-O'sullivan, if anyone has a chance to beat ronnie it has to be our No.1

Beating Ronnie in this concept will be a real achievement, I would say..
