She might be always smiling but she is nowhere near as good a ref as Michaela or any of the other pro refs!! Besides, they shouldn't be smiling all the time they're reffing, they are supposed to be concentrating and doing the job, not smiling and posing for the cameras.

This is like watching good quality players taking the **** out of the game with drunken crowds acting very childish and making for TV viewing to be very boring and frustrating.

Snooker is a game of immense skill and tactics, not about hurrying the game up, sexy walk on girls and loud crowd participation, if i want that I'll watch darts. Hearn has taken his PDC events to the snooker audience and whilst some will enjoy it the genuine snooker fans who have watched for years and will always have an interest in the game will feel alienated by this pathetic attempt to jazz up the game.
This isn't Barry Hearns idea though, it has nothing to do with World Snooker.

            • I can't find enough words to express how horrible this idiotic tournament was. This has nothing to do with snooker. I can't even call this a sport. The thing that most of all bothered me was that mumbling about how this should become "The snooker of the 21st century". Our sport is going the wrong way ever since Hearn took over. Shortening of formats, worthless ptc tournaments, power snooker...... I wonder what's next? Maybe they'll make a tournament where the players will cue with their feet just to please the crowd. Snooker is slowly but shurely turning it self into a prostitute pimped by Barry Hearn and Ronnie O'Sulivan.

              • Did'nt mind the format but the crowd got right up my nose, it just got worse and worse as the beer took hold. I don't mind if the crowd get into it a bit like and create a buzz and a good atmosphere, but that was just way too much and don't suit snooker one bit...it was so surreal watching, it was, i dunno, aint got the words for it...

                Darts this game ain't...

I would watch power snooker again but that crowd was unbearable.

It just ain't right i tells ya...

OK, I can see why Power Snooker might annoy, but this statement seems somewhat extreme. Are there not more tournaments to play in since 'Hearn took over'? Is this 'going the wrong way'? Was today not the first time in years that ANY snooker was shown on ITV? (OK, I know that ITV = lowest common denominator, but this is additional coverage, not replacing anything). In fact ITV managed to do not a bad job considering, even getting Clive Everton to add some gravitas to procedings.

Might a day of Power Snooker be better than the pre-Hearn business-as-usual no-snooker-at-all on the last Saturday in October?

                  • What a crap. After one hour I quit watching as my curiosity run out. Even though I found the format of play theoretically interesting, it didn't seem to work out at all. Just senseless hitting around in an outright disgusting atmosphere. Nice try, but this had nothing to do with snooker except the table and then I even didn't like the color of the cloth
Ten reds and not a colour...

I'm the same, just haven't got words for it - it was just weird. I reckon the format could work though and be succesful, but maybe just in a normal venue, with a little bit less alcohol.

                      • I admit that the 'G'won my son!' tendency is annoying at the best of times. I think I heard Jimmy White say in response to a 'Come on Jimmy': 'I am coming'.

Congratulations on one of the most idiotic posts of the year.

First of all, this is not a Barry Hearn project. How many times do people need to post that before it registers.

How the hell can Snooker be going the wrong way? It had already hit rock bottom with nobody watching and damaging revelations about bungs. Hearn has been in charge for less than half a season. Stop whinging. It's better than waiting for months on end for a tournament and i'm sure it will get better.

Maybe you should be in charge. going by some of the racist crap you spout. I'm sure you could make some events really lively. All you ever do is complain (apart from posting racist comments of course)
