            Well done, Ronnie!
Oh, the injustice: at 11 PM (my time) some are working and some others are sleeping like logs. Tut-tut, shame on me!
Really pleased with the result, can't wait to see the match.

Ronnie better maintain this form for the 22nd of October, when [**spoiler!! spoiler!!] I'm in Grimsby to see him and Hendry have a shoot-out on Main Street.

Yeah but the size of the pockets on a table is nothing to do with make of table and more to do with the template used for the pockets.

There are some threads in the tables section which explain it better than i ever could but I am sure they are still using the old template, can not see why they would change the template because they change table makers.

The main reason the shot-clock was introduced was to be certain to contain the match within it's allocated slot on broadcast. With a fixed 6 frames and a shot-clock the lenght of a match doesn't vary much and that's an important practical element for a program like this one.

Oh, I just thought Matchroom could use tables made by other makers for premier league matches, not Star. I've heard the news about WSA changing over to Star. And, of course, the pocket templates that ferret mentioned could be different too.

The pockets didn't look that big to me if im honest, not as big as the ones in this worlds world champs by a long shot. The middle bags on the star table at the premier league last night looked slightly bigger, but that's it.

I do admire Ronnie a lot, i mean you get a grand for every ton you make and hes playing shots left handed for no reason etc, truely awesome to watch. But i think he pushed it a bit too far last night in his interview afterwards when he says that he was playing 'embarrassingly bad' with his right hand, so used his left.

Then he proceeded to say that he was lucky to scrape a win, i really cant decide whether its arrogance or whether he is just completley oblivious to his talent. I mean the guy gets 3 tons on the spin, wins 4-2, earns 7k, thrashing shots in with both hands and he stands there after complaining.

Any other person in the history of the game would be more than happy with a performance similar to Ronnie's last night, anybody. He truly is a genius, no doubt about that, but why does he feel to rub salt in the wounds of Marco Fu and say that he didn't play well etc when he clearly did. Maybe his own expectations are far, far superior than anyone elses ever. That's probably the only explanation.

Sometimes I wonder if young talents like Trump spur him on to do extraordinary things, of which he completley dismisses as 'bad' afterwards just to stamp his authority on the game of snooker as the best player in the world. I was thinking to myself when Trump made the 139, that Ronnie would more than likely come out and perform like that, surpass it.

I have a lot of respect for Ronnie, he does things on the baize 99.9% of people couldn't do on the computer game equivalent! Truly awesome to watch. And hes not even found a cue that he likes yet, unreal.
I love the game of snooker :) (even though my mates think that its just a load of balls :D )

Ronnie always strives to perfection and what he asks from himself is extremely high. When he doesn't play as well as he would want to he's extremely critical on his own performance. As you said anybody else would be happy wit it, but he isn't. He might have done plenty of fantastic things during the match, what will remain on his mind is "that" loose shot or "that" miss... He's just like that, and yes, he is a bit (or a lot?) "unreal"

I've been watching him for many years, and even when he does play extremely well, against Hendry in the 2008 WC semi for instance, he is STILL blasé about it. It seems nothing will satisfy this man, which has probably contributed to his illustrious career to date, he always wants to better performances.

There is still a fine line between 'taking the michael' shall i say, and being genuinely honest. Sometimes i feel Ronnie crosses this. I know his brain doesn't always work in the correct way, perhaps not rationally anyway, it just cant do. He gets a 147 in the deciding frame of the 2007 UK Championship Semi-Final against Mark Selby, and then says that its nice to give the audience 'little 147s' and that he didn't play well. I don't think i have ever heard him say that hes played well.

ive been taking ronnies post match interviews with a pinch of salt for a while now, i pretty much stop listening to him but what caught my ear last night was him saying that a 4-2 scoreline flattered him.... or didnt do fu justice.

you play six frames score 3 centuries and 4-2 flatters you?

perhaps he believes he should only win frames he clears up in?

can anyone remember the interview after the 5 centuries in the best of nine a few years back?

                            was he happy then?

one last point... altough it does add to the occasion of the premier league, i dont think your going to get serious revealing interviews from players when that clown Goldstien is giving them. i enjoy the banter but really dont think it would befit a "proper" tournaments coverage

The only reason I can think of is that he knocks in maximum almost every frame during practice!!! then surely ordinary centuries are not good enough !!!!

On another note Marco Fu's £2000 prize money pushes him over the £1million career prize money mark.
