As I remember he said he played ok, but had it easy because he was left in the balls so many times. Or words to that effect...

I do admire Ronnie a lot, i mean you get a grand for every ton you make and hes playing shots left handed for no reason etc, truely awesome to watch. But i think he pushed it a bit too far last night in his interview afterwards when he says that he was playing 'embarrassingly bad' with his right hand, so used his left.

Then he proceeded to say that he was lucky to scrape a win, i really cant decide whether its arrogance or whether he is just completley oblivious to his talent. I mean the guy gets 3 tons on the spin, wins 4-2, earns 7k, thrashing shots in with both hands and he stands there after complaining.

Any other person in the history of the game would be more than happy with a performance similar to Ronnie's last night, anybody. He truly is a genius, no doubt about that, but why does he feel to rub salt in the wounds of Marco Fu and say that he didn't play well etc when he clearly did. Maybe his own expectations are far, far superior than anyone elses ever. That's probably the only explanation.

Sometimes I wonder if young talents like Trump spur him on to do extraordinary things, of which he completley dismisses as 'bad' afterwards just to stamp his authority on the game of snooker as the best player in the world. I was thinking to myself when Trump made the 139, that Ronnie would more than likely come out and perform like that, surpass it.

I have a lot of respect for Ronnie, he does things on the baize 99.9% of people couldn't do on the computer game equivalent! Truly awesome to watch. And hes not even found a cue that he likes yet, unreal.

Well done Ronnie. Well said Nat!
Worth re-reading, especially for the ROS-haters.

Very good games last night and I enjoyed watching both of them. Robertson vs. Trump was a great match, both players playing quite well. But, as Mike Hallett said in commentary, it was Judd's unforced errors which probably cost him the match. I really enjoyed the centuries and the potting from both players.

What can I say about Ronnie? What a performance! I wanted to see more of Marco Fu in that game but I think he is having troubles with the shot clock. I like the way Andy Goldstein asked Ronnie about his cue saying he changes every day! And I think Ronnie is being a little stupid about his comments about his performances, he is just never pleased with any performance.

The tables I think are Star tables but they are different to what I have ever seen. They were silver (not Gold as I expected) and the side of the cushion frame had its normal silver slide but the legs weren't silver, they were just plain wood. It seemed like a nice table. From what I could see it was a 'Platinum' table but I don't know if that is the make or the name of the table.

For the pockets, I didn't notice from when I was watching that they seemed 'big' but it may not be the templates which caused them being apparently 'big' but possibly the cut of the pockets rather than them being actually wide pockets.

I look forward to the next Premier League match, but we have the Shanghai Masters before that to look forward to.

Also, Neal Foulds has a blog on the Sky Sports website: http://www.skysports.com/opinion/0,25219,16974,00.html

It seems nothing will satisfy this man, which has probably contributed to his illustrious career to date, he always wants to better performances.

There is still a fine line between 'taking the michael' shall i say, and being genuinely honest. Sometimes i feel Ronnie crosses this. I know his brain doesn't always work in the correct way, perhaps not rationally anyway, it just cant do. He gets a 147 in the deciding frame of the 2007 UK Championship Semi-Final against Mark Selby, and then says that its nice to give the audience 'little 147s' and that he didn't play well. I don't think i have ever heard him say that hes played well.

For me the biggest flaw in Ronnie's game is his post game interview.

Ronnie is THE most exciting player to watch but everytime I listened to his post match comments I used to lose just that little bit of respect. Maybe Ronnie does not realise it, but at times his comments don't exactly flatter his opponent. He would do well to enroll in the Federer School of Post Match Interviews. Nowadays, when Ronnie does his interviews, I just think of him as a babbling idiot who couldn't say the right thing even by mistake. That way I don't see him as belittling his opponents and all is well.

All said and done, he is what he is and we have got to take it as a package deal, I guess. As long as he keeps playing amazing snooker, his ill advised comments are not a big deal. But at some pont time will catch up and he will be on his decline. Thats when he will really have to watch his mouth because people may not be that forgiving anymore.

Well he wasn´t playing especially well in the first three frames. Yes he cleared the table in the third, but was extremely lucky not to leave the table open for Fu at the break off and had the balls running his way a couple of times during that break, otherwise it could have ended 3-3.

Indeed and that's why I don't get all the fuss around this interview. Ronnie usually is very critical towards his own performances and he wasn't playing well in the first frames. He was dissatisfied with his game and as usual just said so. Nothing new there ... and no big deal neither.

Thank you to whomever has and posts any links to the ROS vs Fu match last night.
I really need to re-see it.
Ronnie's performance rivetted my eyes, captivated my sense of awe, took my breath away but more...
it was one of the wierdest exhibitions of snooker I've ever seen put on by O'Sullivan.
I just want to count the number of times he switched hands...
