Or maybe snooker parity is such that even 17 frames doesn't truly determine the better player. Thoughts?
Wattana is a former world no. 3, so he still can produce some good stuff once and a while. Gilbert doesn´t really live up to former expectations, and this could well be a turn around for him. And Chuang is a young and promishing really tough player in the longer matches, I wouldn´t be too surprised to see him in top 16 within a few years. In 2008 he qualified for the cruicible, so these wins don´t come totally unexpected.

Wattana is without doubt the best far eastern player of old - 147 in 1992 - regular top 16 player for many years - solid cue action - fantastic long potter.... Just great to watch... Sorely missed by myself and many other fans from the snooker hay days... He was the fore-runner to Fu - Ding - Wenbo etc. and a real hero in his own land. Would love to see him on a televised match first time for so long... Hope so... Come back James and play like you really can....

                      Cant understand the schedule
Mark Joyce played a marathon match yesterday and defeated Marcus Campbell 9-8 past midnight
on this morning he plays Steve Davis. so unfair

He was a great player - and just to add - he has THREE maxiums - only Hendry, ROS and Higgins have more. So fluent and smooth around the table, good solid temperament.

He qualified for one tournament last year - not done much so far this season, but didn't play in all the PTCs and he has made a decent start in the match vs Gould 2-1 up and in the balls 14-12 up in 4th frame. And now out of the balls, but looks like he may have played a safety as Gould didn't score straightaway
