Well it was far from a classic, they were mostly scappy frames, both players having numerous kicks, and the table was playing really heavily. But there was a nice century from Steve in the 5th, and I'd say that all in all he played the better of the two, and deserved his win.

Steve doesn't make too many centuries these days so that should give him some confidence. It would be nice to see him gain some consistency.

Yeah, it's good to see Hendry so patient out there. Mafflin is obviously trying to frustrate him by playing on needing 3 snookers. Hendry kept his cool and played safe instead of going for low percentage shots, like he sometimes does.
A Hendry who is willing to grind is a very dangerous opponent.

Yep that was Maflin's tactics trying not to let Hendry get into any sort of rhythm.......
