Global snooker still has Tirapongpaiboon the wrong way round. They have pai before pong. Great result for him today though. His rate of improvement over the last two years has been spectacular, and you couldn't wish to meet a more polite and hard-working young lad. Maybe we should use his Thai nickname - Man.

Nice nickname but there's also Mitchell Mann so at some point things may become unclear

I remember seeing on one Thai site (at the 2009 Asian Under 21 Snooker Championship I believe it was) they wrote his name "Thanawat Thirapong".
Shorter and easier to be pronounced.

I think some scoreboards and perhaps entry forms limit the number of characters you can use for names.

Not this time I think. For example, they wrote the whole name of UAE's Khalid Al Mohammed Kamali

It was Thanawat Thirapong even on the Global/snooker site > http://www.global-snooker.com/2009-A...er-21-Draw.asp

              Joe Swail wins 5-1.

The first 100% (not minor) ranking tournament match victory for Swail since 2009 Shanghai Masters qualifying.

              (This is well-made sentences. )

'Thanawat' got to be the star of the show so far 3 wins on his debut in his first ranking event, now Matt Stevens to qualify, and still only 16, not 17 until December. Terrific start for any player, let alone a newbie at 16.

Good runs also for Zhang Anda, michael White & Jamie Jones so far!

                      sad indeed.

yes, andy had to go away on sunday after being constantly by his friends hospital bed since tues nite, i did not think he would even consider it to be honest, snooker or life in general takes second place when a tragedy hits you so close to home. andy , like anybody i suppose would gladly miss a payday to be with their best mate. his friend danny had been on a few trips with andy around the snooker scene and will be sadly missed in tavistock, especially by the fire service in which danny served, many thanks for reading this , mick.

Janie seems to have stopped posting updates on her site for the time being, shame really. Thanawat Tirapaipongboon going well at the moment.
