Oh well, half an hour off to play around with a numbers shouldn't be a problem.
How do you do the calculations, montoya? So far I've done it with Excel, but rather manually, so perhaps you've got an easier way?

Actually I'm doing it manually, I'm good at arithmetics and working with numbers is fun for me
But maybe I should think about something more original as a potential computer engineer
And plus, I hope I will not forget to register a team next time

Hi theasaris,
I do believe you weren't really enjoying your "break" today
Jamie Burnett & Andrew Higginson both had to play a wild card round and both won 5-2.
Andrew Higginson won his last 32 match 5-3 while Jamie Burnett had a walkover against ROS.
Now, why does Andrew Higginson get 15 points (assuming a loss in his last 16 match) and Jamie Burnett gets only 10 points (again, assuming a loss in his last 16 match)? In fact, I could argue that Jamie may be allowed an extra 5 points (for a virtual 5-0 win over ROS)
What I'm trying to say is that very.tee & I should be in FIRST PLACE!!! Same as y'day & the day before :snooker:

- wrong as in, I DID enjoy my break updating those scores (by the way, my "breaks", which you seem to be curious about, are from writing my Bachelor's thesis - earning them every couple of pages).
- right as in, I haven't really thought about how to include walkovers. How has this been done before? Giving Burnett another 5 points (or even 10 points due to the theoretical whitewash), seems unfair to me, because his walkover had been known beforehand, unless of course he had lost the WC match. montoya, what do you say about that?
By the way, I am just sooooo happy for John Higgins at the moment. Hope he'll return for EPTC 5, which I might attend!!!

Good luck with your thesis
Right, the virtual whitewash was sort of a joke, though I'm not sure whether a W/O is recorded as a whitewash or not!!!
We cannot however ignore the fact that Jamie will be playing in the last 16 (same as Andrew Higginson) and regardless of how he got there, he still deserves the same treatment as Andrew...:snooker:
Bottom line is: very.tee & I are still in first place (whitewash or not)

If any complaints come, we shall give it a second thinking, but right now, I agree with your idea.
So, no points for Jamie Burnett's w/o for now.
Please suggest if any of you all have a better idea

Please clarify that Jamie won't get points for a virtual whitewash but he still gets the same points as Andrew Higginson for progressing to the last 16 round.
