don't know what happened but see Ding lost 5-3 from 3-0 up! Looks like he missed a lot of chances in the last 3 frames. Puts Gould right in the top 16 shake-up and fair play to him winning from 3-0 down.

So Ding, Carter, Maguire, Trump, Dott and Ebdon have all failed at the first hurdle in both big ranking events this season

Ronnie is no doubt the biggest ticket office draw. Tickets were all sold out before his match. They actually had to put up extra seatings to accommodate the overwhelming turn out. It is rather unexpected that he lost to Hamiton.

Ronnie was arrogant and was not playing proper safety in the earlier frames. Despite being a Ronnie fan, I loved the way the sheriff spanked him. I have never understood why Hamilton has not done justice to his talent over the years. He is a much much better player than his ranking suggests. His break building under extreme pressure was top class. Good on him and Ronnie should learn his lesson i.e. show RESPECT! and play proper safety or else he will continue to catch early flights home.
