i suppose that explains why he has a paltry 2 MINOR ranking titles, 1 of which recently won under controversial circumstances as compared to john higgins' 24 ranking titles, including 4 WSCs.

Um.. you seem to be confused.. no-one is trying to suggest Selby is as good as Higgins, the suggestion is that the style of play is similar.

The discussion was about Selby's style of play (negative safety etc), the opinion stated was that Selby played no different than Higgins. It was therefore implied that the "no different" in that sentence referred to the "style of play", not to any achievements the players have.

So, either you're confused about the topic of discussion, or the statement in Q, or you're intentionally setting up a Strawman.

Alternately, perhaps I'm confused about the topic, or statement. However .. you're the first poster to mention achievements and several other posts have mentioned style, tactics, game plans, safety, etc.. so..
