Well you wouldn't think this was a snooker forum considering there have been more posts when the snooker isn't on than today and yesterday when the season started!

think the high majority of us want jeeemy to do well, but were getting used to him losing too often.

hope he picks up as the season goes on, as, with his ability, experience, knowledge, and of course fan base, hes still got more to give snooker.

Great for Tony, 900 ranking points in the bag already i believe.

Not so good for White sadly.

This really doesn't feel like the snooker season yet to me as before this tournament existed 2007/8 was scheduled to begin in September, not June.

Very good win for Tony, he was 4-2 up when I checked the livescoring, so he had to survive a good fightback from Ford. His next opponent Andrew Norman showed some good form in the Pro-Am series this year so I think he is the favourite, but Tony will get 900 points anyway as chasmmi said.

                      Our Jimmy

What can we say, all snooker fans love Jimmy.

We all want him to do well, although he's gone out in his first qualifying match this time, i think (and hope) that if he can get a win or two under his belt he maybe able to get a bit of a run going.

Here hoping, well done tony drago.

Tommorrow could be a day, with a few of the "bigger names" coming out to play

I'm too busy at the moment to really notice that the new season has started, and it's too early for my liking as well.

Not surprised to see Jimmy losing again, he should have quitted last season, now he'll have to embarrass himself for another year unless he throws in the towel mid-ways!

I know what you mean, but the truth is that Jimmy is a much much bigger name than any of those in the next tier up of players in the next round, with the exception of JP alone. It is a mark of how very far he has fallen that he is now mucking along amongst the newcomers or the other strugglers who rarely ever see the light of day at the final stages of tournaments.

There were many discussions here last year about whether Jimmy would quit. The consensus seemed to be that he would keep playing as long as he is still able to do so on the main tour. I fully hope this is the case, and long may he survive. Like Stephen Hendry his return to form is now very long overdue, but unlike Hendry Jimmy hasnt survived as well although they have both been very bad by their own standards, and they have both lost most of their matches over the last few seasons.

Real shame for jimmy, hope he can do a steve davis! like a few yrs ago when evry1 thought the nugget was done an dusted and bk in the top 16 at 60. Personally i think its just a question of desire 4 jimmy, if he still has that hunger an passion to succeed he may have a chace of returning to the games elite, if hes happy enough playing a few exhibitions here an there and necking a few pints then that wnt get him far!
