How to locate the files in the cache: A complete guide. First of all, the cache is a folder of temporary files, where the things you view in your browser will be temporarily stored. The rule of thumb is that if something is on the internet, it is possible to download it. (I am no 'puter wizard, and have only very basic knowledge of the matter, but it suffices to find most things.)
To locate your cache folder: type, in the address bar of your browser, the following about:cache.
You will now see a string similar to this: C:\Documents and Settings\the user name you are logged in as\Local settings\Program data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\nudxl56v.default\Cac he
Open this folder (copy the string from your about:cache page, choose "start" -> "run..." and paste the string here. Press "enter".) It should be a mishmash of all sorts of files here now, most importantly we are looking for files that are of a certain size, stored at a certain point in time. For a couple of minutes of multimedia content, the file should be a couple of MB (exceeding 1000kB, in other words). The file will have NO extension, but might be called something along the lines of A92C1734d01.
It might be easier to locate the file in question if you empty your cache before you start looking. (Mozilla: Tools -> Options... -> Advanced -> Cache -> Clear Now)
So. You have a nearly empty cache folder. Open the page you want to download a file from. Let the video file load completely, then pause it. Go to your cache folder and pick out the most likely candidate for being the correct file. Copy this file into another folder and rename it whateeveryoufeellike.mpg.
That's it and that's that.
