So...I have three favs. One of them is thousands of miles away from Shanghai. Another one beat the World Champion from 3-1 down. And the third came back from 4-0 down to win the match.
I guess I should consider myself lucky, then.

Many of the top ranked players aren't doing well in this tournament. Higgins, Hendry, Murphy, Junhui (although he had to go up against Dott), Ebdon, Williams (well...he's not ranked very high at the moment but still), Maguire (although Stevens is a better player than he's ranked), Doherty, Davis (same story as Williams)....they all lost early in the tournament.

Almost the same scenario as last year in the northern ireland trophy. Except that Ronnie and Ding were flying then.

just seen the scores...and first of all i'll say : YAYyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy for Matthew. Its been a great day today..now that Matthew won i can call it fabulous.
Err.. Ding lost 5-1..well.. how did he play ? If he played like he did in the previous match.. i can understand why this score.
And its a surprise for me HIggins-Sleby score.. It was 3-1 to Higgins at the interval...i thought he'd win it most likely. Was the "come-back"-s day today ...
