@ doograg: I guess it's just the fact that the season starts so early. They're not really used to playing a ranked event this early. Hopefully next tournament will be a little better. This tournaments does give the players an opportunity to gain a bit of form for the next ranked event though. It's just too bad that the next one won't start until October. =/

Shoot. One Scot left in China and it's DOTTY.
Don't give a toss who wins the tourney now. In fact, I think I might not even bother watching the rest of it. The only semi-interesting match is Day - Stevens.Das war ein FLUKE! Ein Glückstreffer!

snooker as a tour is practically finished - theres no money in it - tourneys are months apart - mostly all first to 5 shoot outs! Therefore time and time again the rubbish comes through - never mind the standard is higher ---- it's nonsense! The top players are generally playing at a lower, more inconcistent level and are playing for less money months apart! Im just p1ssed off Hendry got pumped - something sadly that im beginning to get more and more used to! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I have to say, I am no fan of Stevens, but I am well impressed with him, dishing out some serious damage to two of today's top players. Being Robertson 5-0 and then winning 5 on the trot against Maguire is certainly no mean feat. If he keeps this up he'll refind his top 16 place in no time and would well deserve it."I'll be back next year." --Jimmy White

Well done Dott! Your interview was set at the right time to get some adrenaline going. Mcculloch is gpne, and your still there.
furthermore, no surprise Higgins lost. Back to back wins are very rare and it is part and parcel after winning a world championship. I am into no doubt he will win either The Grand Prix or The UK.
Hendry, it has all been said. Where from here? I dont have a clue!
Stevens did well but he always bottles it. At least he got some valuable ranking points. And it could be the turnaround for Matthew.
Surprised that Dale, Harold and bingham got through. Last straw to get up that ranking!
Seems that Selby has established himself now in the top 8!
I hope Day will finally breakthrough with this one.

Well, now he's over 40 it gets more and more of a surprise, but you know what I am getting at.
Last year at Sheffield the record books say he lost 10-3 to O'Sullivan, but watching the match there were at least glimpses of what he's capable of: but for a clumsy miscue on the pink when on 94 he would have had a ton, not bad if you only win three frames!
Four seasons in the top-16, and having dropped to 45 two years ago finds him in his eleventh season in the top-32 at the age of 40.
I don't profess to be a fan of his, but he ain't a bad player!
PS In this very tournament he won the high break prize for the qualifying rounds.
