First day of the new season, a bit of a warmup, no real spectacular matches yet. Tony Drago against Chinese wildcard Bulajiang would be interesting to see though. In fact, any match involving a new face is good to watch. So this should make for an interesting day, don't you think?

    Day 1, Monday August 6:

    07.00 BST
    Stuart Pettman vs. Cao Kaisheng
    Fergal O'Brien vs. Cao Xinlong
    Adrian Gunnell vs. Jin Long
    Dominic Dale vs. Liu Chuang
    12.30 BST
    Scott MacKenzie vs. Yang Qintian
    Tony Drago vs. A Bulajiang
    Michael Judge vs. Xiao Guodong
    Mike Dunn vs. Yu Delu

    Eurosport 1
    08.00-10.30
    12.30-15.30
    16.45-20.00
    22.30-00.00

    Shanghai TV
    06.55-11.00
    12.10-16.00

Looks like an early night for me...

Well, no early night for me I'm afraid, so I think I'll miss the first session, but I'll have a look at the second one. I hope Eurosport will show Drago against Bulajiang, but MacKenzie or Judge is ok for me as well.

Not too sure about that - despite playing Tony Drago, Bulajiang has the worst odds in the entire tournament. (At least he did when I checked it earlier.)

Oh, well, new and live snooker. I'll be in front of my telly with a cuppa

Out of all the Wild Card matches I hope they show Dunn v Yu Delu. Yu Delu has won both his previous wild card matches in the China Open and presuming they show Liu Chuang's match it will be interesting to see the difference in standard as Liu was awarded a tour place ahead of Yu despite Yu having a much better amateur record.

I just hope 2 of the 8 wild card Chinese players can get into the next round.

I don't think Hegeland (or in fact anyone else) would watch that match to see Bulajiang (no disrespect, but nobody knows anything about him), but to see Tony playing in good form, because that would mean good entertainment for most snooker fans.

And Dominic Dale wins the first TV-shown frame of the season with a great break of 116 before losing position on the green.

don't know Ellena, doesn't look eurosport is going to have live video streaming on their webpage (and they are yet to start the snooker coverage). Not sure if the chinese TV is available without installing sopcast or some other software.

                    Eurosport today:

09:00: Dominic Dale - Liu Chung (looks to be a short one, then, Domic Dale is 3-0 up 3 mins before the transmission starts)
13:30: Scott MacKenzie - Yang Qintian

                    Tomorrow (could be changed):

09:00: John Higgions - Jamie Cope
                    13:30: Steve Davis - O'Brien/Cao OR Ding Junhui - Dunn/Yu

According to Rolf Kalb, there will be online streaming, so I'm looking for that one right now Will report back should I find it.

Well there's TV coverage on at least two tables, on CCTV 5 they show Pettman v Kaisheng.

                            indeed

looks a good big airy venue.

just showed the "two main tables" on eurosport.....

Dom Dale playing well so far.

I never did find the streaming, but well, 48 minutes of transmission wasn't much. Again according to Rolf Kalb they cannot switch between the two tables during transmission.
