Mistake from the referee in the Wenbo v Mahitthi match today?? He called a lot of misses when Mahitthi was able to hit the black easily, he kept nominating the baulk colours......Wenbo should of been awarded the frame after the 3 misses:snooker::snooker:

with the 3 miss thing in the first frame im thinking the edge of the red just below the white must have been blocking the path to full ball on the black, surely a referee of professional standard wouldnt make such an obvious mistake? (although it certianly didnt look like it, i was expecting the frame to be awarded to wenbo after the third miss as well).

You would think if mahitthi could blatently hit the black full ball wenbo would have at least questiond the referee after the 3rd miss?
Also i would have thought after a couple of misses mahitthi would have tried to get back to baulk off the black, it didnt look to be too hard, certainly eaiser than the escape he was trying.
im struggling to remember if that red below the white was even anywhere near blocking the black but its the only logical explanation i can come up with unless both the players and the referee just didnt see the black there.

The original position of the white was further away from the red - therefore a clear sight to the black was possible.

When the ref replaced it, he put the white far too close to the red in question. From the new position it might not have been possible to strike the black full ball.

Still, the ref was wrong. Why did he not use the cameras to get the exact position?
