    im struggling to remember if that red below the white was even anywhere near blocking the black but its the only logical explanation i can come up with unless both the players and the referee just didnt see the black there.

      The original position of the white was further away from the red - therefore a clear sight to the black was possible.

      When the ref replaced it, he put the white far too close to the red in question. From the new position it might not have been possible to strike the black full ball.

      Still, the ref was wrong. Why did he not use the cameras to get the exact position?
