Yes, he is ...but Walden is 35 in the world and hes not played a ranking tournament semifinal yet...thank God, for Hendry, he didnt played Maguire....

Ding has never been the same player since the final of the 2007 masters when osullivan was at his best and beat him 10-3, since then ding has been the shadow of the player he was and has lost his confidence. He won the Jiangsu Classic a few months ago, beating Mark Selby 6-5 in the final, so maybe hes on his way back!

          • Another stop for Ali Carter on 50+ break, what´s wrong?
Robbo's potting is so good he doesn't need to bother with positional play like the rest of the players. He laughs in the face of those who spend hours on the practice table perfecting their cue ball control! ~ Forman

            • What´s happening with Murphy. Maybe the most stable player over the last two or three years, and now he´s on his way to the third first round exit in a row. And he should be on top of his career right now ... hmm.

Is he just out of form, or is there any other rumours out there ?

                    • Surely, Andy Hicks is the best player not having won a ranking tournament or being in the top16. Always cool to watch him when he reaches the final draw.

                          Murphy warns of hampered chances

                          Snooker

                          Date: 30 September 2008
ROTHERHAM potter Shaun Murphy has warned that a lack of practice could hamper his chances of success at this week's Shanghai Masters.
Murphy, 26, begins his assault on the crown with a first round clash against Andy Hicks tomorrow.

But the world number three, and 2005 world champion, has only spent two weeks on the table because of a busy off-season.

"Because of some commitments I had to complete at the back end of the summer, I have only actually been able to get on the table in the last couple of weeks, so my preparation hasn't been great," explained Murphy.

"I was very pleased with how I finished last season, so I haven't been working on anything too specific in practice, mainly just trying to get the scoring and safety sides of my game working together in unison.

"I have been working hard, and my form in the club has been very good.

"I am reasonably happy, but with my time away from the table over the last few weeks I'd be happy with anything past the quarter-finals."

Murphy is provisionally ranked number two in the world after an impressive season last year, but is adamant that he is not immune from a shock in the Far East.

"With it being the first tournament of the season, everyone will be feeling their way. There might be the odd shock, but I'd be happy to reach the last eight. I'm looking no further than that, really," he added.
Now Mr Murphy it's not the first tournament ... it's the second!

What?! You saying he won?! ...YAY!!! Go Williams!
I had a power failure here, couldnt see the last 3 frames ... I really didnt think he'd beat Carter, considering Alis in great form these days.Way to go, Mark!! Hes gona play Cope next, considering Dott withdrew.
