Good win for Ken Doherty! I think he could still be a contender and make life difficult for some of the top players - he may not be a top 8 player anymore, but I think he is good enough and has the all round game to hang around for a year or two yet and perhaps still get to the later stages (quarters/semis) a few more times.

Excellent news.
Just worked out that it is the first time he has won two matches in the same ranking event since the 2007 China Open, how bonkers is that?sigpic

Good win that was for Ken. Hopefully some of his confidence has now been restrored after showing some good form recently when reaching the semi-finals of the pro challenge series.."Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."

Saying that though you have to make Robertson favourite and rightly so.."Statistics won't tell you much about me. I play for love, not records."

He may be getting on a bit, but he has still showed some form in ranking tournaments and lets not forget it was only 2 and a half years ago that he was provisionally the world number 1! Confidence is a massive factor and if he has got that back he will be a dangerous floater.
