Experience proving crucial this morning then, only one player under 30 winning and that is David Gibert who has been around a good while.

Nice 5-2 victory for Gilbert this morning would be nice to see him qualify.

            Hi guys,

do you have any ideea which is the state of health for Ian McCulloch?

Tomorrow he will play against Simon Bedford for a ticket to final qualifying round against Hawkins, although Bedford whitewashed Song i think McCulloch could easily pass him if he is fit to play his game.

What about Ken's match, against Lawler, can he get to Shanghai?

            Thanks

Yes Ken has 2 qualifying matches to win to get to the first round proper and Id like to see him do it myself.

If he can beat Lawler then I would fancy him to win against Fergal. Actually think that Rod will be the tougher test here.

I have the same opinion, also taking into account that Rod's confidence could be high after he won the decisive frame against Guodong.

I think both Rod and Fergal would prove to be equally tough..

I'm probably just being swayed by the fact that I saw Rod play some good stuff last week in the English Open and Pro Challenge events while I've not seen Fergal since March when he collapsed against Burnett. Plus the fact that Rod had a pretty good season last year while Fergal had a bit of a nightmare.

Not to say that Fergal can't turn it around of course.

There doesnt seem to have been any turn-around in John Parrot's fortunes; opening the season with a 5-0 drubbing.

I can't understand why Parrott is still going on.. He doesn't really practice anymore and there's no way he would enjoy a match like that.. It's not that White played some amazing snooker either with only one frame winning break.

ken played so well last week so his confidence is high but thats a tough route for him under pressure.
