Well he would certainly do a better job than Walker, even though Johnston-Allen wasn't anything special..

Walkers commentary was fine, whats your problem with it?

Lacks any real expertise or true understanding of the game. Fine if you think he done a good job but it's just my opinion.

I didn't hear him today so it's perhaps unfair to judge but I can't imagine that he would have been great, he's just not a snooker man. I like him as an MC unlike a lot of people but as a commentator...just seems unsuitable.

                  David Roe v Noppadol Sangnil

about 4 balls on the cushing and a initial red using the rest wanting to screw the ball a tad and Rob Walker said it was a great chance for Roe with balls in open play and when Roe missed the rest shot i thought had every chance of missing Rob Walker was amazed he missed it....

                  totally clueless..

It's nothing personal but Rob Walker just doesn't cut the mustard as a commentator, he should stick to being an MC as that's what he's better at.

Still find it strange that they couldn't have found someone else, instead of thinking Walker would be a good choice..

well John Parrott got nothing better to do for the remainder of the week....

Dominic Dale and Ken Doherty knocking about somewhere and what about Davis he might be there somewhere tomorrow lol

Out of that quartet i would plump for Dale..

                        • I guess Rob is an experienced commentator for other sports (see his commentary CV here), so that will explain the choice a bit, but importantly none of those are snooker...

yes Rob Walker isnt a MC he is a sport broadcaster with the BBC but Snooker is such a complex game to understand angles you need to develope reds being straight on balls isnt great but rob thought it was....
