He may be getting on a bit, but he has still showed some form in ranking tournaments and lets not forget it was only 2 and a half years ago that he was provisionally the world number 1! Confidence is a massive factor and if he has got that back he will be a dangerous floater.

You maybe right there. Think it will go quite close though, & if ken can sustain the form he's been showing of late you would have to give him a chance.

Saying that though you have to make Robertson favourite and rightly so..

Wouldn't be so sure in a first round match, with a bit of confidence he can give Robbo big problems.

Good win that was for Ken. Hopefully some of his confidence has now been restrored after showing some good form recently when reaching the semi-finals of the pro challenge series..

    Excellent news.

Just worked out that it is the first time he has won two matches in the same ranking event since the 2007 China Open, how bonkers is that?

Good win for Ken Doherty! I think he could still be a contender and make life difficult for some of the top players - he may not be a top 8 player anymore, but I think he is good enough and has the all round game to hang around for a year or two yet and perhaps still get to the later stages (quarters/semis) a few more times.

Oh right. I am wrong, he must have been in Far East at that time, lol. Sorry.

It's better not to remeber 6 reds, Nigel needed the victory in the final match of the group and he got it in detriment of Murphy, and with what score...

    OMG
i have no idea what Doherty is playing in the final frame, he made few fouls and in think with 5 ball on the table Fergal needs only one fould to take clinch the match
    48-76

I suppose you are referring to Bond? He has played recently, in Thailand 6 reds tournament, won World games just a couple of weeks ago, played also in that Pro Challenge series 1 in Leeds too... Hopefully in a good form!
