    Damn it!

Really looking forward to Dott against O'Sullivan especially after the last few drubbings he has handed out to him. Also Hendry has a chance of revenge against Campbell for 9-0 if he gets past a wildcard.

dont think Hendry has ever played Campbell since that 9-0 drubbing .....

lets hope campbell wins 5-0 last time hendry became World Champion lol

      • Dont forget the 7 lowest ranked players will have to play a Chinese wildcard first!

Does anybody know if world snooker pays for the flight and hotel to China, or the Chinese sponsors. Or do the players themselves have to contribute towards the cost????

yes and these chinese arent push overs so campbell or any of the others could fail to make the first round...

          • For those interested in the rankings, I've updated the provisional rankings after this week's qualifiers on my blog. As you can see I've added the minimum points etc from the upcoming events so as to give a more accurate picture, hopefully I've got my maths right!

The Boss will be pleased, Mark King topping the one-year list with those minimum totals taken into account

              • Huh, I know it's a bit early but I'm already getting excited about a couple of the 1st round pairs. My five picks would be:

O'Sullivan v. Dott: Doesn't get better than that in 1st rounds. Dott has a great overseas record while O'Sullivan has been known to be at his worst in China. When was the last time Dott lost to O'Sullivan? Must have been in the fall of 2004, if I'm not forgetting anything. I have a feeling Dott might take this.

Hendry v. Campbell: Ok, Hendry is obviously a big favourite, but this could be a bit of a grudge match, with that 9-0 trashing in the minds of both players.

Robertson v. Doherty: It's still not long ago since Doherty played some good stuff and was comfortably in the top16. Despite last season's awful form, I expect players might want to avoid him actually. It'll be interesting to see if he's got himself up for the season.

Perry v. Cope: A chance for Perry to get some revenge for that WC defeat against Cope. It's not going to be easy though, Cope is obviously on a high right now, and he's played some good stuff in China in the past as well.

And potentially, Ebdon v. Liang: I do hope Liang gets through to play Ebdon. It would be the reigning China Open champion against the winner of the recent Beijing International Challenge and the home favourite. It would also be interesting to see two players with a rather eccentric shot selection.

Still a month to go though, shame.

I forgot about that. Still, a bit of controversy is all the more reason the get excited.

Mark King is on 1960. because he had to drop back to the qualifying round he's put lots of points on the board already.
One and Two year ranks are also on Global Snooker, so everyone can cross check with each other.
