Well at 6-3 Liang is bang in there with a chance, but Wenbo really needs to win the first 2 frames in the evening session to put the pressure on the Rocket.

It can be done...i remember when Paul Hunter was 6-2 behind against Ronnie in the 2004 Masters Final and came back to win so anything is possible..

Was Ronnie warned for something? He wasn't for preventing the white to get in the pocket but I'm under the impression there was another offence. What was it? I only caught Williams saying "Sorry" to Liang.
      Thank you.
And darnit, another failed maxi, aw!

I'm not sure it was a warning, but Eirian Williams talked to Ronnie about punching the table after the missed maximum - clearly in "don't do that again" tone.

And when a former police officer tells you "not to do it again", he really means it.
          Thanks, darrus.

Not a bad match, some tense and interesting moments, some steals, lovely safety duel in the 2nd? 3rd? The long frame, anyway... Beautiful breakbuilding from Liang and he stopped going for absolutely everything.
Shame about the botched maxi, was going so well!

Im sure if Eiran Williams missed a ball on for a max he'd be whistling back to his seat

A warning for that is ridiculous in my opinion. C'MON RONNIE.

Doubt it's over yet, hopefully Wenbo has settled down and could be a bit of a challenge in the second session.

im glad the ref showed some common sense when ronnie stoped the white going in the pocket and gave ball in hand to wenbo, why was this situation handled differently to the Selby vs Dott saga at the worlds? is it just down to the ref to use his discression or was one of the refferees wrong?

Well, technically Williams was wrong. But since his decision was "in the interest of fairness", I don't think there will be any complaints.

Just the start wenbo needed. He trails Ronnie O' Sullivan 4-6.

Must be the start that Wenbo was hoping for. Hopefully he'll take one or two more right away!

May not happen in this 11th frame though now, as the balls are nicely situated for a winning break from Ronnie..

O' Sullivan on a break of 62 and counting..
