But it's quite clearly not my cup of tea. I think it's a pathetic spectacle, and it saddens me to see it associated with the great game.
I don't get to see Jimmy White or Alan McManus on television, so, it's enjoyable, despite all other horrific things.
Remove the commentary, for the sake of God!
All the way Mark J!!
I understand nothing from snooker. - Dedicated to jrc750!
Love the venue. The event is everything that is wrong with snooker at the moment. The rent-a-crowd shouting, the forced "this is so amazing" little interludes from the MC, the pros made to look like club players.

It's new and needs time to settle.
Sky have brought many different angles to sport and yes on occasion they appear vulgar, but what they do is they see what people want and they give it to them. If people want a weekend every year where this tournament happens and people are encouraged to get involved, and the players don't mind it, then it stays, no matter what traditional snooker fans think.
What this is doing and will do is attract people to the game (youngsters primarily) which will ultimately keep the game going as a mainstream sport.
What's the purpose of the girls walking in with the players? It's 2011 and just when snooker needs to face the future, it goes back to the 1970's. They even have Miss World saches.

Yeah, they should bring in Andy Grey to do the commentary, it'd fit perfectly..

The fast and the furious,
The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!
Did you hear someone shout out be carefull when jimmy was just about to hit that tricky black, the guy was try to put jimmy off and it worked. this is a load of bull.
Oh c'mon sit back and enjoy... I'm quite suprised I find this pretty entertaining (and I remember how I didn't find 6-reds having any spirit at all).
It's quite a lottery anyway, doesn't matter that much who wins.
So far the one who gets so-so-ok position the first one, that one wins - no come-backs so far; the only posibilities for that seem to be such scrappy frames like campbell just won.
Edit: seems like a very good venue for snooker events!
