  • China Open - Player Missing Snooker Cue

I just heard tonight that one of the players playing in China as lost his snooker cue he discovered this when he returned Home, I am not sure which player it is or how the cue went missing, but if it is true what a time to lose your snooker cue three weeks before the World Championships starts or next week if they have to qualify for the event - the player is said to be absolutely gutted, because he as used the same cue since he started playing the game, does anyone know which player it is

Joe Johnson was talking about it on euro sport and said it was Shaun Murphy, apparently it just wasn't on the plane when he landed not heard any more than that

Well if it was Shaun, he should be OK, wasn't he saying just a short while ago on that feature about cues that it was just a bit of wood, and he could get used to another cue pretty quickly, or words to that effect

Yep it's defiantly Shaun Murphy.... Cause he put up a message on his twitter account the other day saying it was still lost!!

He must be gutted, losing his cue so close to the world championships......

Damn he will be gutted! Just a bit of wood, I'm sure Mr Parris can rustle something up for him That's why you should always have a couple of spare cues :snooker:

O and just found this little extract from his Twitter that made me laugh:

My mum makes me laugh. Told her my cue didn't get home, "it's ok, it's only wood" #stilldoesntgetit

has he lost his cue or did he realise who he lost to and started making excuses?

hey nugget a lovely link there with some useful information. loved what stephen hendry said about not being worries about the make of a cue as long as the cue works for you.

I feel sorry for him - he's been using that cue since he was 12. and it was an antique....

Twas a lovely example of a newman cue too, he mite have some bother replacing it to be honest, youre right though willtyson with more overseas snooker looming there mite be more pros investing in a few spare cues from now on.
