Why not? Whitewashes aren't that common in proper competitions. And Higgins is one of the best players ever, tough nut to crack so to speak nevermind whitewashed.

I agree to White Wash Higgins is very unusual and Never happens as he is proberly one of the best all round players ever but didnt show this yesterday missed so many easy chances it was unreal.

I thought Higgins didn't do that much wrong in the first four frames. Maguire was just playing out of his skin. This happens sometimes, other guy is just too good. But the chance Higgins couldn't take in the fifth was unforgivable (missed an easy red trying to develop couple of other reds) and Maguire had such a big lead already in that frame that he had no trouble to close the match.

All in all I put this whitewash down to Maguire's excellent performance rather than Higgins' bad play.

The source was David Hendon on Twitter so I'm guessing it's true.

He did say in a full ranking event so there may have been others in non-ranking tournies.

Considering how few matches we get to watch with this multi-table format, I'm surprised and rather disappointed that we're watching another ROS match this afternoon. This blinkered Osullivan-centric attitude isn't good for the sport, no matter what Ronnie's fans might say.
We should now be watching either the world No, 1, 2, or 4, rather than the No. 16 yet again.

I'll watch all snooker when it is on the BBC, I am a Ronnie fan myself however.

But the fact is more people will turn on the TV to watch Ronnie play than will to watch the World Number 1.... So what would the logic in not showing his matches be for the TV companies?

I would've prefered Selby v Dott or Robertson v Stevens to be televised in this session. I've seen none of them in this tournament.
