  • Superb final, particularly the last frame. I was enjoying it when it was going according to my predictions, Maguire winning in the early stages, and I certainly enjoyed the match going close in the end!

I thought Maguire wanted it more than any other player this week, but the way O'Sullivan fought in this match... I'm not so sure. It was unusual to see him reacting to crucial shots so many times, and it was mainly positive stuff rather than frustration. As he said, he nicked the title this week, and it was well deserved.

On the downside, no midnight finish again, outrageous! They really should start these finals an hour later.

Also, a bit pointless to say it now, because it turned out to be irrelevant in the end, but that hampered black along the cushion from Maguire was such a great pot under pressure. It's got to be up there with the best pressure shots this season.

Now bring on the Welsh Open!

    • Only caught the end but could tell it was a good game, Ronnie is just too good a player to not be winning. if he had the same winning mentality as SH and SD he would have broken every record in the book but then he wouldn't be Ronnie.
Lesson to all you boring club players out there. IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT WINNING JUST ENJOY YOURSELF!

        • Maguire must be wondering what he has to do to win...

He whitewashed the World Champion, beat Trump the in-form player, whitewashed Murphy, and then starts the final with 3 consecutive tons.... and loses!

Not really what you'd call a confidence booster is it.

I think you won by 6 points.

              • Fantastic Tournament in my home city Berlin I missed most of the final (except for 1 frame in the first session and the last frame lol)
I had a music gig and left my laptop on. By the time the gig was finished they just started the last frame. I even clapped at the end with my headphones in, still sitting in the location

Visiting the Tempodrome during the first round I must say, watching Snooker on the Telly / Internet is one thing but sitting right there with the players right in front of you, it gives you goosebumps!!

                  • I feel sorry for Maguire, I really thought he had a great chance to win this, and so did he I guess. Ronnie played a lot better than he did against Lee, the crowd really spurred him on, in fact I think that's what made him concentrate even when he was 6-3 behind.

All in all an enjoyable final, I do hope Maguire can keep up this form and eventually win something.

                    • Pity Eurosport's coverage was so ****ty. I watched some of it on live stream, but when the African Nations went to Extra Time, my live stream started packing up. So I went to bed and missed the end of a decent final.

                      • yes, i really can not imagine why eurosport covered the whole tourney and then showed only 2 frames of the final?
wayne-cup of nations is like watchin the kids play on sunday afternoon.
i think you have to be a stupid alcoholic when you want to work as a programm editor for eurosport.
and no that does not make me want to have eurosport2. i'll watched it an a stream.

sorry for beeing harsh. i am ****ed but nice.

Such is the power of Ronnie O'Sullivan

It's like Ali Carter - it's the 2008 World championship, he struggles past Barry Hawkins 10-9 in the first round, batters Murphy 13-4, Ebdson 13-9, he makes a 147 but has to share it with O'Sullivan biut he's carrying his momentum forward and beats Joe Perry 17-5 to make his first world final. This is brilliant, surely now he's in with a chance against anyone in the world, just one more win and he's world champion, the moment he's always dreamt of, he just needs to beat....Ronnie O'Sullivan. F***!

                                That should be 17-15.
